Joanna and Michael are nationally published wedding photographers who specialize in bright, clean and classic photos. With a deep love of people, we are committed to an experience based on service and attention to detail while creating a fun and comfortable experience in front of the camera.
We believe that wedding photography is done best when couples have a relationship with their photographer and fully trust them. This is how we have guaranteed and delivered incredible photography experiences to our JK Couples the past 10 years! When I arrive on a wedding day, I need to feel like an old friend and not like a stranger. This affects every aspect of how your photos will turn out! But what you may not realize is that you need a great experience with your photographer more than anything! That is exactly what we promise to give you. Over and over and over again, JK Couples rave about their experience almost more than their images! Why? Because in order to get those natural, genuine portraits that truly capture who you are, you have to feel comfortable with the person taking them. The way you feel while you are having your portraits taken heavily influences how you feel when you see yourself in the final images. We have worked with so many JK Couples over the last 10 years and I can honestly say it is 100% possible to love how you look in your images if you feel comfortable while having them taken! Creating comfortable, joyful and genuine client experiences is what we specialize in and we are excited to share more about what the JK Experience Includes!

We have structured our wedding experience very intentionally. Everything we offer and recommend is a strategic part of an overall experience that leads to what our JK Couples ultimately desire: genuine, timeless and joyful images. Our most intentional aspects of the JK Wedding Experience include:

We have found that for a traditional wedding day, we need a minimum of 8 hours to capture the full story of your day with a stress-free timeline.
We include an engagement session complimentary because this is our opportunity to get to know you and empower you to feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Michael is a non-negotiable part of our wedding experience! Groomsmen rave about his effortless ability to make everyone feel like an old friend. The JK Wedding Experience wouldn’t be complete without him!

Bridal portraits give you a chance to wear and be active in your dress before the wedding day to ensure it fits well and is comfortable. It also lets you see your whole bridal “look” before the wedding day! Plus, you get to wear your dress for more than one day. Who doesn’t love that?! Bridal portraits are scheduled no later than five weeks before your wedding date either at your venue or another beautiful location!

We’re big believers that images aren’t meant to solely exist in a digital space. One day, most likely, Instagram will be gone, your phone will be replaced and images that you can physically hold in your hand will be the best way to remember those precious moments we captured.
Think about this fact: thirty years ago, if we had delivered you digital images, they would have been on a floppy disk. With the fast updates to technology, you would have no way to access those images today. Even the online galleries we deliver will eventually fade away.
One of the best ways to make your wedding memories last is by ordering an album. These high quality professionally designed albums come in a variety of linen & leather colors. These aren’t the same albums your parents' wedding photos came in. They’re modern, lay perfectly flat and look incredible on a coffee table.

Albums are available a la carte or as part of your wedding collection.
After we deliver your gallery, we'll work with you to design an album that will become an heirloom for your family.
Albums must be prepaid before design begins and typically take between 4 to 6 weeks to complete (including revisions).
With the exception of printing errors, all albums are non-returnable. Albums may be ordered anytime before or after the wedding day. The holiday deadline for ordering is November 1st.

Unless you’re a model, being photographed probably feels a little awkward, especially when you're just meeting the photographer for the first time. We do this for a living and we still always feel a little out of place when we have our photos taken!
We’re big fans of engagement sessions for a few reasons. First, they allow you to get comfortable in front of our camera. It takes time for most couples to warm up to being photographed and understand how we pose. Timelines can be pretty tight on weddings days and 30 minutes may be all we have for portraits - which is why
we’ve found that wedding day portraits turn out so much better when couples do engagement sessions ahead of time. They will have had practice with us beforehand!
Second, you can showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you. We learn how you two interact and how to photograph you in the most genuine way. But more than anything, we want you to feel that a trusted friend is showing up on your wedding day!
We’ve taken engagement photos anywhere from 18 months in advance to the day before the wedding.

Whenever you would like! We can shoot this immediately upon booking or if you're from out of town, we can schedule something closer to the wedding day.

We add travel fees on to certain wedding outside of the Houston area. Fees vary depending on location so ask us for more details.

When do you charge travel fees for weddings?

We typically average 100 photos per hour we are shooting. The exact amount varies from wedding to wedding. Your online gallery will come loaded with fully edited high resolution images you can print anywhere. You’re also welcome to share your wedding photos on social media! We kindly ask for photo credit when posting and sharing.

How many photos will we receive?

Fantastic! To reserve your wedding date, we’ll need a signed contract and a $1,000 non-refundable retainer. If you don’t have a contract yet, just let us know and we’ll send one over! The remaining balance will be due 2 weeks before the wedding date.
